Vere Foster plays the fiddle, mandoline and guitar. He has studied Scottish, Irish and American fiddle music and recorded his first album with Farmstead in theYorkshire Dales. Vere also played with the folk/rock band Morris Convertible before joining Ray and Ian in The Plumtree Band.

Ian Wilson plays accordion, concertina, octave mandolin and cittern. Ian's driving rhythms and strong vocals are a key feature of many of the band's album tracks. Ian also plays with the well-respected Peeping Tom ceilidh band.

Joan Smith plays the keyboard, which gives the band its unique sound. Before joining, Joan performed solo in folk clubs, accompanying her rich, warm voice with the guitar. She also sang with an unaccompanied harmony group named The Oddfellows, after the name of the pub, in which they were residents.

Ray Jane is a fine singer, who also plays bass, guitar, flute and whistles. Ray played in a duo called The King's Shilling before joining The Plumtree Country Dance Band, which was the forerunner of BELZEBUB. Ray is also the band's caller.
